Welcome to the Aviators: the Next Generation Scholarships! This initiative was launched to help ensure that enough qualified and competent aviation professionals are available to operate, manage and maintain the future our international air transport system.
The Aviation Industry

In the next 15 years, globally we are set to see as many flights are we have witnessed in the last 100 years. More than 50% of new airport investments and nearly half of the world's air traffic growth will be driven by travel to, from, or within the Asia-Pacific region. This means by 2026, we will need 480,000 new technicians to maintain the global feleet of aircraft and over 350,000 pilots to fly them.

In simple terms, this means the demand for aviation professionals will exceed the supply. For world aviation this presents significant challenges. For the Maldives, this presents a serious risk as many aviation jobs are already on skills-shortage list.
